UAE and Germany Lead Global Trading Activity in 2024, According to Capital.com Data

Capital.com, a leading online broker and trading platform, has revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Germany played pivotal roles in driving global trading activity in 2024.

UAE traders were the most active on the Capital.com platform, completing 19.5 million trades—twice as many as traders from Germany. With a trade volume totaling $468.9 billion (approximately $39 billion per month), the UAE’s trading activity was the highest across all markets. In comparison, German traders were recognized for their heavy use of stop-loss strategies, with nearly 30% of their trades—29.64%—incorporating these essential risk management tools in 2024.

Throughout 2024, Capital.com’s global trading volumes reached an impressive $1.7 trillion, with UAE traders contributing to more than 25% of the platform’s overall activity. This follows earlier reports from April 2024, which highlighted Capital.com’s strategic shift away from the UK market and towards the MENA region, EU, and other global markets.

The insights are drawn from the trading patterns of over 600,000 active global traders who used the Capital.com platform between January 1 and December 31, 2024. The data offers a comprehensive view of regional differences in trading strategies, preferences, and performance.

Among the UAE traders, there was a noticeable trend towards asset class diversification, with active participation in 23 different markets, including Dogecoin, US Crude Oil Spot, and Gold. Additionally, the UAE stood out as having the most profitable traders, with 62.53% of trades resulting in positive returns. Qatar followed closely with 61% of trades yielding profits. Traders in regions such as West Africa and Northern Europe had lower profit rates, with returns ranging from 51-52%. This data highlights the increasing success of UAE traders, who are diversifying their strategies across a variety of markets and asset classes.
