Dubai launches special seal for AI companies

Dubai Introduces Exclusive AI Certification Seal to Drive Innovation and Global Leadership in Artificial Intelligence

Dubai has unveiled a unique certification seal to recognize and validate artificial intelligence (AI) companies operating within the United Arab Emirates. This groundbreaking initiative aims to strengthen collaborations between AI enterprises and the government, while establishing Dubai as a global hub for AI innovation and excellence.

The launch of the AI Seal follows directives from Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Dubai Future Foundation. This initiative aligns with the objectives outlined in the “Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI,” which lays out the city’s strategic framework for integrating and regulating AI technologies.

The certification seal is designed to create a trusted ecosystem of AI companies that can offer secure and ethical AI solutions to government bodies and businesses. By doing so, Dubai aims to foster confidence in AI applications and services while accelerating advancements in the field.

Certified AI companies will gain significant advantages, including a competitive edge in securing government contracts and involvement in key national projects. Additionally, they will be permitted to showcase their certification on digital platforms and marketing materials, enhancing their credibility and alignment with Dubai’s forward-thinking AI strategy. The certification is available at no cost to licensed AI companies in Dubai that specialize in AI-related products or services.

Applications for the AI Seal will be rigorously assessed based on several criteria: the company’s activities and services, the expertise of its AI specialists, ongoing and future projects, and its partnerships with both public and private sector entities.

Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, which oversees the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence (DCAI), emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating: “This initiative will foster strong collaborations between the public and private sectors, both locally and globally. By harnessing AI, we can unlock new economic opportunities to benefit the economy, society, and the future we envision.”

This new certification seal forms a core component of the “Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI,” a comprehensive plan to guide Dubai’s adoption and governance of AI technologies. Through the DCAI, the program seeks to enable government entities to integrate cutting-edge AI systems, attract world-class AI solutions, and empower local talent to ensure continued growth in the sector.

In addition to encouraging innovation, the AI Seal represents a vital step toward a future where technology is not only transformative but also reliable and ethical. By certifying companies, Dubai is laying the groundwork for a tech-driven society where AI plays a central role in enhancing lives and driving progress.
